I Survived – the 10 o’clock film

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I pulled out our bicycles and took them the to car wash to knock years of accumulated dirt and dust off them.  Afterwards he asked me if I remembered how to ride a bike.

I hopped up on it and the promptly fell down without gaining my balance, dragging the bike with me.  My knee and elbow were scraped up pretty good and I had a nasty bruise on my elbow, but a few days of acetaminophen and a visit to the chiropractor and I was, perhaps not good as new, but at least willing to try again.

But first the bikes needed a tune up and the seat lowered!

Tonight we picked up our bikes.  After dinner we found a nice flat parking lot (next to a hospital).  I think I figured it out!

We didn’t ride long.  I think this video is less than 60 seconds.  I maybe rode for another 3 or 4 minutes.  We didn’t want to over do it.  This after all the first time in I know 13 years and probably closer to 20 or 25 that we’ve been on bicycles.

The forecast is for rain, so I don’t know if we’ll get out tomorrow or not.

  1. That reminds me that we haven’t gotten out on our bikes yet this year. It’s gotten too hot now, so I guess we’ll wait until fall.

Yeah, no falling this time. Looks like your balance is back.

  3. I remember riding my bike about 20 years ago down to get our mail at the PO and having to walk it back. I thought, is this what it means to go for the ‘burn’? My thighs were burning! Hope your wounds heal. Be careful out there. glad to see you wearing a helmet. I don’t even own one of those!
