Quilting and Stuff by Knitnoid

What’s On My Design Wall

I’m posting this a bit late because I was determined to get it finished!  Before going to bed last night I had all but the outer borders attached to the quilt.  This is Aiming for Accuracy a weekly quilt-along sponsored by the Quilting Gallery.

When it was first announced I wasn’t going to do this quilt — I have plenty in progress, I didn’t know what I would use for fabric and wasn’t excited by the size – 58 x 82.  A little too narrow for my taste.  But about 3 weeks into the quilt along I decided what the heck. I had found a length of pink fabric for my constant and decided I could use some of those florals sitting in my stash. I’d worry about the width when I got that far.

With the exception of the flying geese, each fabric is only used in one block/lesson. I didn’t begin to use all of the floral fabric in my stash.  For the most part the flying geese are made from fabric used in the quilt, although I suspect there are one or two which were not.

By adding the flying geese and adjusting the pink spacer borders on each side the quilt top is now 66 x 82. I just have enough of the pink fabric for binding when I finally get it quilted.

Hop over to Patchwork Times to see what other are working on.

  1. Good looking HOT PINK quilt. I like your extra borders. What will you quilt on it?? I wonder…

  2. What a fun Sampler Project and that Hot Pink is stunning. Love the way you increased the borders….very creative and great use of fabrics.
