Over the weekend Ruby and I went to the Mississippi State Fair to see the quilts. The theme this year was America250. Although I have multiple red, white & blue quilts, there’s only one which was finished in in the past 24 months. A mystery quilt I did in 2011. I finally got it quilted this year. I’m happy to report that I won a blue ribbon. The state fair gives individual scores: 90 -100 Blue Ribbon, 80-89 Red Ribbon, 70- 79 White Ribbon. While they were setting up the quilts, I saw a picture posted of a near by quilt and the red ribbon hanging on the right, so I thought I got a red ribbon. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I actually won a blue ribbon.
I talked Ruby into entering her newly finished Vintage Christmas Sampler. She was hesitant since it wasn’t Red, White & Blue, but as it has a vintage feel, I thought it fit the theme well enough.
Not only did she get a blue ribbon, she won Best in Class and got that big rosette ribbon!
