Quilting and Stuff by Knitnoid

Stash Busting Report April 19, 2025

Apparently working full-time, remodeling a kitchen, quilting, and bunco is not conducive to maintaining a blog, but I’m trying. Two weeks ago I went to Pensacola, Florida for the Gulf States Quilt Association quarterly meeting.  At the time I was overwhelmed with everything I needed to get done, but since I needed to turn in my Lotto blocks and it was too late to cancel my hotel reservation, I went to the meeting. Cindy Grisdela was the speaker and I won a door prize!

I stopped in at A&E Fabrics & Crafts “just to look”.  I actually was doing quite well until I spotted the dot fabric.  I’ve been commissioned to make a quilt in these colors, so off to the races I went.  I had 2 or 3 bolts I planned to take the rest of the bolt (less than 3 yards each) and I was going to just get 1/2 of the rest.  Then they explained the sales they had going on and most of what I picked was 40% off.  Naturally I bought more since it was on sale.  I ended up with just shy of 19 yards.

Also added to my stash this week was 1 yard of assorted Jason Yenter fabric from the new Dragons-Emerald Reign collection. This is what was left after I made the Emerald Reign quilt as a shop sample. That and some scraps.

In addition to making the shop sample, I bound 2 panel quilt.  When I was shown the floral quilt, I fell in love with it – and had to go get my kitchen samples. I picked up the panel today when I dropped the quilts off.  Yes, I’ll be making this to hang in my breakfast room.

Nearly forgot. 2 yards of a wide back came in for me to use in assorted craft projects — such as the backsplash behind my stove.  More on that later.

So this week’s Stash Report:

Fabric Added Since Last Report: 28.08 yards
Fabric Added to Date:  77.25 yards

Fabric Used Since Last Report: 0
Fabric Used to Date: 36.116 yards

Net Fabric Stash: 46.464 yards
