Quilting and Stuff by Knitnoid

Stash Report

It could have been worse.  I headed to the quilt shop Saturday morning with the intention of purchasing up to 14 yards of fabric — 5 1/2 yards of Magic Black, 3 1/2 yards of gold and 5 yards of fabric for a backing — if I could find something good on the clearance rack.  Instead I came home with 2-2/3 yards of fabric + a FQ for having completed my DWR.  The 2-2/3 yards of fabric was from the clearance rack — it was the last of the bolt of the fabric that I’m using for my alternate blocks in my Star-A-Day quilt.  I don’t think I’ll need it, but since it’s an older fabric and it was 75% off I decided I would buy it.

I got the binding stitched down on the batik quilt, so I’m starting off the year with just over 1/2 yard used.

Fabric Added Since Last Report 2.91 yards
Fabric Added to Date: 2.91 yards

Fabric Used Since Last Report: 0.556 yards
Fabric Used to Date: 0.556 yards

Increase in Stash to Date:  2.354 yards

As for my fabric goals this year?  I’m keeping it simple. Use more fabric than I purchase. Now if I can just stay away from the recycled shirts — that’s what got me last year.

You showed considerable restraint in not bring more fabric home from the fabric sale. Organizing scraps is my least fabric thing to do, kudos for working on your scraps.

  2. Good start for the new year, I have faith you will succeed your goals easily this year.

  3. I like your goal, simple to remember at least. I’d probably still struggle to keep it. How do you add recycled shirts to your stash count?
