Quilting and Stuff by Knitnoid

Time Estimations

Clearly, I cannot estimate time when it comes to quilting. What I thought would take me 10 or 20 minutes took closer to 1-1/2 hours between running out of bobbin thread and the machine eating my sashing pieces.  All of my sashing units are pieced and waiting to be paired together. I’ll sew the pairs as I add the last row to the blocks.

I really don’t want this quilt to become a UFO, but I have a deadline approaching for one maybe two quilts, both of which are in progress, so we’ll see how far I get before I get distracted.

The first one is a cat quilt. About a year ago I cut into my Cool Cat panel and came up with 12 blocks and the plan to make a kids quilt around 44 x 58.

But now, I need to morph this quilt to at least 60 x 85 and possibly 70 x 90. Well, either this or some other cat themed quilt. So my thought is to mix these blocks (and the 3 leftover cats from the panel) with the Caterwauling panel.

Part of that plan is to use some of my cat themed fabric that I’ve collected.

Anyway, I’m excited about the challenge and can’t wait to get started.  As for the 2nd quilt, it’s the blue and green Strip Twist, which is still just a stack of blocks at this point.

This will be a queen size quilt.
