This is one of the blocks from Dancing Flowers that is on my design wall. I have a picture of all the blocks I have done, but it’s on my external hard drive and I’m not at home so can’t get the picture.
This is the 2nd UFO I want to finish this year. I took an on-line class from QuiltCampus in early 2007. Yes, this is applique, and “I do not applique”. At the time I was thinking about setting some black and bright swap blocks with a vertical sashing strip with appliqued flowers. I’ve since changed my mind, but this quilt was already started. There are four blocks with appliqued flowers and the cornerstones have appliqued hearts. I have two of the blocks and the cornerstones completed. Most of the pieces are cut out and prepped for the other two blocks.
Before I do any more work on this quilt though, I need to finish the quilt I started Saturday. So in the meantime I’ll leave this on the wall and consider what I’m going to use for sashing. When I get home, I’ll try to remember to post the other picture.

That is really pretty. If the other blocks are like that also, you will have a stunning quilt when finished.
Working on one, worrying about another, thinking about a third…Are you a QUILTER????? My friend calls applique a four letter word.
Generally, applique is a 4 letter word around me. Which may explain why I’m planning on doing it on the bed quilt.
I like it, definately worth finishing. Good luck completing the UFo’s this year. It’s one of my goals too.
I don’t do hand applique but I love, love, love doing machine applique. I try to have at least one applique project going all the time. It allows me a diversion from piecing, pressing, and quilting. 😉
I’m not fond of applique in any form — this happens to be machine applique. My last project was hand applique, and believe it or not I have a kit for an applique project. I’m not sure what I was thinking when I ordered it.
Nice Flower, in my favorite color… the black background is stricking! I’ll be checking back to see the other flower blocks later. I’m curious that way.

Thank you. This is a machine applique project. I will have to dig in the box, but I think I used a combination of freezer paper and the heat resistant template material.
I love the flower on the black background. It’s very pretty.
