Quilting and Stuff by Knitnoid

What’s On My Design Wall

No, it’s not three quilts — it’s just two.  I haven’t made any progress on the Ocean Waves quilt since last Monday.  Well, that’s not quite true.  I’ve made another 70 half square triangle squares bringing my total to 910 of 1584.  I’ve got another 400 or so cut and ready to sew on the sewing table.  I’ll work on those this week and perhaps get a few more blocks made now that I’m done with the Orca Bay  string blocks.

The black and white quarter triangle square blocks are from part 1 of Orca Bay.  I finished them up Friday night and haven’t taken them down off the design wall — hey I know where they are 🙂  The orange string blocks are for part 2.  I have no idea how these are going to be combined yet.  We all are going to have to wait until Friday for the next clue.

Lots of folks are working on Orca Bay, and you can see how others are doing on the mystery by following the links on Bonnie Hunter’s blog.

To see if anyone is working on something other than Orca Bay, follow the links to the design wall over at Patchwork Times.

11 Thoughts on “What’s On My Design Wall

  1. You’re daring to work on the Orca Bay quilt while doing your Ocean waves blocks. I have too many Christmas Projects on my lists and no progress to show. I dared not start Orca Bay. Have a great week.

  2. Love seeing the strings in orange!

  3. That is an impressive amount of triangles up on your design wall! Your ocean waves is really lovely. I really like your orange string blocks – it’s so fun to see all the different colors people have chosen for the mystery.

  4. Awesome strings. Love Orange! The HGU look like floor tiles! Overwhelming when shown all together like that!

Woohoo! I’m glad to see your orange strings. I love them! I also made orange strings, but I haven’t decided on the main color (Bonnie’s red). I look forward to seeing your choice!

  6. Great colour choice, I am still struggling with part 1….. too many quilts to be finished by the end of december, so I will take my time…

  8. Wow, your units look great!

  9. Your lay outs are really lovely!

  10. We probably still won’t know how they go together tomorrow when we get step 3, but I sure hope that we get to use some of the main color so we can get a taste. Your blocks look wonderful, it’s so nice to see them all out like that on your design wall.

    • This is true. I had to take the string blocks down last night to make room for my log cabin blocks. Wanted to take down the hourglasses as well — but the prospect was daunting. So now I do have 3 different quilts on my design wall.
