Quilting and Stuff by Knitnoid

40 Day Challenge Day 9

Yesterday my sister came over to quilt a baby quilt, so I had to clear off the quilting machine, again. Although I don’t think I’ll leave the leaf of my sewing table up on a regular basis, it did prove to be a great place to stack the various projects I have going. From the front to the back. On the bottom of the first pile is Allietare. On top of it is the binding fabric, the baby/doll quilt to bind and fabric for the bonus pillowcases. The middle pile is the quit which I need to label and the logcabin quilt. Leaning against the last pile is my Star Studded BOM. The last pile are quilts which need to be washed and photographed. Next to the sewing machine is pair #6 of the pants which need to be hemmed.

I only got one pair of pants hemmed yesterday. I got a bit distracted.

Acrylic Pour videos have been popping up on my Facebook timeline. I saw one by Mixed Media Girl where she used supplies from the Dollar Store  and thought that would be an inexpensive way to try out the technique. This is my first attempt.

Today after I run to Fedex to ship a package, I’m going to do my best to finish the hemming so I can cross it off my list.  I may load the log cabin quilt and while it’s quilting I think I’ll work on the BOM. It would be nice if I had a few more blocks done before I picked up this month’s kit.

3 Thoughts on “40 Day Challenge Day 9

  1. Love that acrylic pour you did! It’s fantastic and I’d appreciate any tips or hints you did to get such a gorgeous art, esp. being your first time.

    • Thank you!

I just watched the videos multiple times. I used craft paint from Walmart and Elmer’s Glue – my guess is 50/50 with a bit of water. The surface is a 10 x 10 wood “canvas” also from Walmart. I did a clockwise tree ring pour until the end when I started going back and forth. Then I started tilting.
