Fala
I pulled out some of my thrift shop shirts for Fala’s coat. This is the first block I’ve made in a while for my Victory Quilt. I started working on the blocks shortly after the book came out in 2008. Who knows why I set it aside. Anyway, Victory Quilt is my October UFO quilt to get to the top stage. I’m making the 6″ blocks and so far I have 8 blocks done.
What’s On My Design Wall
Well, technically it’s this quilt — which my husband is now calling “American Seasick”. Hey, it’s a work in progress.
But as promised here is “Butterfly Hearts” – or my interpretation of Bonnie Hunter’s Fun with Bricks. I started this as my leader/ender project in January. I kept it up as a leader/ender project up until it was time to join the two block halves. Then the top got set aside for a couple of months. Saturday, I quickly sewed the block halves together and then into rows and finally the quilt top.

October UFO Challenge
Mary asked me about the Red, White and Blue blocks I posted yesterday and wondered if they were part of my October UFO. Actually they are my April UFO. What can I say? I think I did get January’s UFO done in January. Every thing else has been mixed up. But the important news is that with the challenge, I’ve been able to finish — as in quilted, bound and label – 17 UFOs so far this year. Some were already tops as of January 1st, and some still needed pieces cut. Additionally, I’ve completed 3 top which were started prior to the first of the year which still need to be quilted.
I did not finish a quilt top or quilt in September. I’m so over it given what I have accomplished so far this year.
So, on to October.
From my still piecing list that would be my Victory Quilt.
Off the get it quilted list it is Glenwood Avenue:
So this of course explains what I’m working on the Red, White & Blue sampler and Fun With Bricks!
Stash Report
I missed last week’s report. Over the last two weeks I finished up Mom’s 4-Patch Stacked Posies, made a few red, white & blue blocks for my sampler and completed the center of Fun With Bricks! – the leader/ender project I started in January. I’ll show it tomorrow – hopefully with borders.
Here’s my report for the past two weeks:
Fabric Added Last 2 Weeks: .5 yard
Fabric Added to Date: 108.634 yards
Fabric Used Last 2 Weeks: 9.083yards
Fabric Used to Date: 152.244 yards
Net Used for 2011: 43.61 yards

UFQ FQs
UFQ FQs? – These are the Fat Quarters I received as part of the UnFinished Quilts project at my local quilt shop. In January I provided a list of 6 quilts-in-progress that I wanted to either finish piecing and get to the top stage or tops I wanted to finish. Yesterday I “turned in” two more – the Christmas Row quilt I finished last month and Mom’s 4-patch Stacked Posies. I have one more quilt to finish — the Crossword Puzzle.
