The plan early in the week was to go to a friend’s home and quilt all day Saturday. Winter Spring had other ideas. It snowed all night and day Saturday. My husband and I took my niece home Friday night. It had started to sleet and snow by the time we left at midnight. The hour drive took 2 1/2 hours. Needless to say, the gathering was canceled and I slept late Saturday. The snow seems to be stopped. I haven’t ventured out to see how much snow is on the table.
This past week I spent most of my quilting time chopping up the shirts from last week. I ended up with just over 14 yards of unique cotton plaids and stripes for my quilts. Not bad for a bit of time and roughly $18. This count does not include the shirts I liberated from my husband. They have not been cut up yet.
I finally sat down at the sewing machine for the first time in a month last night. I sewed a single Poinsettia Star from Carolina Christmas. This fabric is already counted, but when I opened my leader/ender drawer I discovered a stack of Oklahoma Backroad pieces which were sewn when I was working on my mom’s quilt which didn’t get counted.
I’m in the red at the moment — maybe I’ll put off chopping up my husband’s shirts until after I work on something which uses fabric from my stash 🙂

I heard there was snow in Missouri. I’m sad for you! My son is in Platte City. He is stationed at Ft Leavenworth for now. I am glad I see the crocus and daffodils when I look around my house outside. The forsythia is blooming too. I love Spring… hope you get to do some quilting today. I haven’t gotten into the Stash reporting, I wouldn’t know where to start.
Just a few more yards and you are “even”! You can do it! They had called for snow here in MI as well, but it only got cold w/o snow…
Snow! Ughhhhh, how I dislike it let me count the ways. The only good thing about snow is that it’s pretty.
What great fabric you got from all those shirts – we need to keep bringing in a bit of frabic now and again to help keep our ideas and quilts fresh and different.
You are doing a good job with your stash busting.
