Another week where money was spent, but it didn’t include fabric. It’s was 8-cents. Well, it was 8-cents after I used my gift card. I bought a cone of my favorite grey piecing thread and a package of rotary blades both which will be here on Monday.  In the meantime the little bit of piecing I’ve done has been done in whatever thread was handy.

On the fabric front, I get to count the backing, binding and pillowcase for my Sylvia’s Bridal Sampler Swap quilt. I’ve started piecing the last shirt back and hope to get the 2 Disappearing 9-patches basted this week. We’ll see  how things go.

One trip to the quilt shop, plenty of money dropped, and no fabric added to my stash! Just bought batting and thread. I picked up a cone of Cairo-quilt in Military Gold — it’s nearly a perfect match for my Coats Camel thread with the added bonus of not having any trouble using it on the long arm. I have enough batting to get through all of the original Crazy Challenge II quilts, but I think I’ll need more for the extra quilts which were added to the list.

This week I’m counting the backing, binding and pillowcases from Diamond Links. That’s just over 8 yards of fabric used.

This week I made 5 pillowcases (these plus the one above) and bound a quilt — didn’t quite use enough fabric to break even with what I brought home from my sister’s, but close.

I pulled the backing for Out of the Blue from stash. Digging through my notes I discovered I counted the binding when I cut it, but I’ll take 2.667 out this week. Nothing in.  But I’m going to a quilter’s garage sale this afternoon so there’s no telling what I’ll come home with.

I didn’t get the Green Disappearing 9-Patch finished this past week, but it’s closer. The last 13 blocks have the 3-patches stitched together so unless I have to work last this week, I should have the top done by the next report.  Who knows, I might even have a backing pieced — although I now need a 4th shirting backing for my Nifty Thrifty quilt, so I may still be cutting squares this time next week.

On the other hand, I received a pile of beautiful hand dyed scraps – just under a pound of them, so those get added to my total.

I think all I did last week was press the ten 9-patches for the Green Disappearing 9-Patch. I didn’t even cut them. Needless to say that means no fabric out – or in for that matter. In fact other than groceries, my ‘big’ purchase was Books 1 – 7 of the Outlander series for my Kindle when it was on sale for $1.99.
